KFOR Main Tasks[1]

The main tasks of Multinational Peacekeeping Forces in Kosovo (KFOR) are determined by the Operational Plan of the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Forces Europe. They are:

1) to provide humanitarian aid (to make conditions for the return of refugees and displaced persons; to provide quick medical help for returning refugees; to provide water and electric supply; to mark minefields and zones of unexploded devices);

2) to conduct cooperation with civilian governmental institutions;

3) to control the border of Kosovo and Serbia, Macedonia and Albania;

4) to establish necessary reserves;

5) to establish police elements;

6) to insure demilitarization of Kosovo Liberation Army elements.
